The North American Beer Awards is a unique event sanctioned by the North American Brewers Association. The competition provides an opportunity for you product to be evaluated by qualified judges against the best beers, ciders, meads and sodas in the country.
In 2012, over 1,400 beverages were entered into the competition.
In this our 17th year, we look forward to continuing to grow and drawing an even broader base of participation.

Eligibility
The North American Beer Awards competition is limited to commercially produced beverages from an active brewery or other manufacturer.
Judging and Judges
Beer will be judged by the traditional method of determining how closely the entry meets the style definition for the category in which it is entered.
each beer may be entered only once.
In the event any category receives less than 6 entries, it will be collapsed into the next closest style subcategory, but each entry will be judged according to the style guidelines under which it was entered.
Judging will be held at The Hotel on the Falls in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Judging sessions:
A panel of judges may consist of brewers, certified judges, and other qualified professionals. Anyone interested in judging at the 2013 competition must complete a Judge Qualification Form as soon as possible. Forms can be found here
Judges will not be allowed to participate in judging any category in which they or their affiliated brewery or cidery has an entry.
Entries
A brewery/cidery may submit an unlimited number of entries in the competition. Each beverage may be entered in only one category.
Each entry consists of 6 bottles, regardless of bottle size.

NOTE: If you donate beer for the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest, you may be eligible for a $20 competition entry fee. Contact the Beer Fest Director: Lisa Smith for more information.

Notes:
Please specify on the Entry Form the category and subcategory for judging. Please note the new style guidelines; category numbers may have changed.
Additional information is required for entries in the Specialty/Experimental category. For flavored entries,
be sure to indicate which fruit, herb, or spice has been used. Failure to designate a category and/or
subcategory will result in the entry being placed in a category deemed to be appropriate by the organizers.

All international breweries are advised to contact RobinVanHorn with tracking numbers when the shipment is sent. We are available to help deal with customs if necessary. All international entries should be sent by May 1st to be received by May 17th.

PLEASE SHIP ENTRIES ONLY TO THIS ADDRESS
Important! UPS will NOT accept beer or cider for shipment. Therefore, we recommend that you use FedEx to ship entries. To ensure delivery, label shipping containers “Live Yeast Samples for Analysis Only”.
Also, please use gel packs (not ice) to keep entries cool and be sure to cushion the entries well to prevent breakage.
Awards
Awards consist of commemorative Gold, Silver and Bronze medallions with the dated logo of the North American Brewers' Association Beer Awards. Medallions will be presented during a public ceremony at The Hotel on the Falls in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on May 31, 2013. Any winning brewery/cidery not in attendance will receive their medallion(s) via US Mail.
