Mountain Brewers Beer Fest
and North American Brewers Association
Honored by
Governor’s Office
On May 5th the Governor’s office announced that the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest, held
in Idaho Falls, Idaho, was named a winner of the Governor’s tourism event award. Held
annually on the first Saturday of June, the beer fest regularly attracts attendees from more
than 20 states and several foreign countries. With all revenue directed to charities and
non-profits, the Fest has earned these groups a total of more than one-half million dollars.
Offering all the classic attributes of a festival, the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest includes a
food court, live music, a silent auction, and raffle, along with hundreds of beers to sample.
“Attending the Beer Fest has almost become a rite of passage.” Says Gregg Smith, NABA
president, “To many it’s a signal that the summer season has started.”
The 17th Annual Mountain Brewers Beer Fest will be held Saturday 4 June 2011, from
noon – 5 pm, at Sandy Downs. It hosts well over 6,000 people under 40,000 sq. feet of
tent and this year’s event promises to be better than ever. Tickets are available on-line at
MBBF.org or NorthAmericanBrewers.org
“People also come to see which beers have won medals.” Added Bob Beckwith, NABA Secretary: “The North America Beer Awards are announced each year immediately before
the festival.”
The NABA’s annual, professional brewing competition is held in conjunction with the Fest.
Since 1997, more than 1,200 beers compete annually. In fact, on any day of the week, in
grocery stores across America, the medals can be seen on six packs of Anheuser-Busch
Beers such as “Amber Bock, “Shock Top” “Marzen” “Wild Blue” and on the bottle labels of
many micro brewed beers. The medals have also been featured in television campaigns
by Miller and Samuel Adams.
The NABA is a 100% volunteer organization. Our members work not for any pay, but to
demonstrate that you can do good and have fun at the same time.
